Instrument Rentals

Students are HIGHLY encouraged to rent their instruments from Music & Arts, our local music store. This is the best value for a rental, and it offers a path to ownership with the Rent-to-Own program. More expensive instruments can be rented through the school for a nominal fee that covers annual maintenance.

Instruments rentals from Music & Arts can range in price, generally anywhere from $30-50 per month. When paying for a monthly rental, equity is built over time, and eventually you will build enough value to own it! Generally, students who begin their rentals in 6th Grade band will own their instrument around halfway through 8th Grade.

If you are interested in renting or purchasing an instrument, please contact either the Music Store or your Director! Never purchase an instrument without first getting approval from your Director!

There are many poor-quality instruments on websites like Amazon, Temu, etc. These are very poorly built, produce low-quality sounds, will get damaged easily, and are impossible to repair!

School-Owned Instruments

Some larger instruments are not practical to rent from a music store or to purchase outright. BSMS has a limited amount of instruments for rental. These are available on a first come, first serve basis. The quality of these instruments can not be guaranteed, nor can the availability of these instruments.

The Instrument Rental Fee for school-owned instruments is $43.00 ($40.00 plus $3.00 Sales Tax) for the full school year, or $21.00 ($20.00 plus $1.50 Sales Tax) for one semester. This payment is to be made with MyPaymentsPlus. Unfortunately, we cannot accept cash/check payments except for certain circumstances.
